Super Saturday!

I have to start this blog out by thanking the Thomley family for giving us the dish on this awesome destination! On Saturday, it was suppose to rain, so we decided to take a road trip. We picked up my parents and headed to Wabasha to the National Eagle Center. If you have not been there you should go check it out, it is very interesting and we all learned a lot! It was especially fun to learn about the eagles since we are always watching them fly around at my parents house. Here are a couple pictures of our Saturday adventure. I took a ton of pics but am only posting a few.

This is Angel. She is about 18 years old and the reason she is at the center is because she has a broken wing. They figure she either fell out of the nest when she was a baby or she was stepped on and broke her wing. They have fixed her wing, however, since the muscle tissue formed around the break, she does not have the strength to fly.

Here is another shot of Angel. She is a beautiful bird. This shot was taken in the classroom where they taught us all about eagles and also let us view a feeding.....it was very interesting.

Eston, Asher and Grayson bald eagles

Grandpa and Grandma bald eagles

Grandpa trying to spot some eagles but all he was able to see was Eston's face.

Grandpa showing the boys how to imitate a walrus during supper at Slippery's.

Grandpa Grayson and Eston walking on the doc after supper.
After supper we headed to Lark's toy store in Kellog. I had never been there and always wanted to check it out. Here are a few pics.

Grandma sporting her new cowgirl hat!

I grew up watching the smurfs and have never seen a setup like this, i just had to take a pic.
Before we left we had to ride the beautiful carousel that is inside the store. Me and Asher, Asher chose the beautiful dragon.
Eston had to ride the big buck!

Grayson and Grandma on a white horse.
When we arrived back at Grandma and Grandpa's it was absolutely beautiful. I took the opportunity to take a few pics of the boys. I think these will be there 3 and 5 year pics. I wasn't prepared, to take these pics but i think they turned out pretty good.

Asher 3 years.

Grayson 3 years.

Eston 5 years.

  1. Love all the pics! Looks like a great trip. We went over to Wabasha last summer, but didn't make it to the Eagle Center - we will have to do that. Such a fun place, huh? Mrs. Dick, one of the Stewie Kindergarten teachers was actually our waitress when we ate at Slippery's, as she grew up in Wabasha. I love Eston's 5 year shot! Great smile!
