Today we had our appt at the burn center at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. The appointment went very well. Dr. Arenholtz was very positive and thought his burns actually looked pretty good. We need to continue to keep him off his foot, keep it elevated and covered. He also thinks that he should be ready to start kindergarten come September. We will need to go back up in 10 days to have him recheck the wounds and possibly remove the dead skin.

We also had a PT appt today and Eston has full range of motion in his hand, which is great. We have some hand exercises to work on. Dr. Arenholtz wants us to hold off on anything with the foot until the skin is healed. Eston can practice moving his toes and foot as much as possible, just no walking.
The burn center had a beautiful fish aquarium in the waiting room. Eston took about 75 pictures of the fish. Whatever keeps him entertained!!!
Here are a couple of pics from todays trip - no foot pictures though.
Good news! We will keep him in our prayers - poor little guy! :(
ReplyDeleteHe's doing so great. It was fun to see you guys tonight! So glad for the good news and how well everything went with Regions. It's great to have an expert physician burn specialist!
